Headlining: Emmet Lindsay
Genre: Rock / Acoustic / Electronica

From Emmet's website: Emmett has been writing and performing for over eight years, developing a characteristic, melodically provoking sound, and amassing a large body of original material. He has spent the last few years living and playing in various cities around the states, including New York City, Philadelphia, New Orleans and the SF Bay. He also spent two months in Mexico performing in cafes and bars. In 2002 he recorded his first album, lp.o1, a self-produced full-length, featuring layered vocal work and a stylistically varied mix of material written and recorded on various instruments. His most recent stay in the Philadelphia area has seen the formation of a trio around his newest songs, and has allowed for the filling out of a roots jazz/rock sound with contemporary influences, while still incorporating his softer melodic, lilting, and acoustic-driven side.
Trained for six years in classical piano, emmett continues to use his first instrument heavily for writing and performing, along with acoustic and electric rhythm guitar, additionally arranging a good deal around bass. He has also worked extensively with electronic and sample-based music, doing some djing and incorporating into his sets everything from dub to house music, as well as programming beats and layering samples into his own recordings, from the acoustic to the more dance-oriented. He wrote and produced a melodic drum and bass-influenced single featuring cris capasso on vocals, included on his first album. Emmett has toured the northeastern US solo from Connecticut to Maine. He is currently booking a short tour to the southern states with a full band, and is planning a return to new england for a longer tour this summer.

About Kris: 2006 showcasing artist for both SXSW and CMJ, and Lullaby School was voted one of the top ten records of 2006 by both Seven Days and The Burlington Free Press (Vermont's two major newspapers). Deftly plucked banjo strings and soothing vocals on Lullaby School point to a tasteful array of Americana influences-- Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens and Jeff Buckley to recall a few. Moods that at once haunt, then embolden, then lament with somber fragility. On Lullaby School, Kris employs a bevy of rarified instrumentation (e.g. marxophone, sitar and melodica) without allowing the unique layering and complex arrangements to detract from what are delicately, intimate songs. Gruen’s essential offerings lie in his control of language and the vocal prowess with which he delivers it.
